Director of Recruitment & HR - Wholesale Fashion

Our client, a wholesale footwear, home, and accessories company, is seeking a Director of People & Recruitment role to join their team in NYC!

**This role is onsite 4 days per week

Responsibilities:

• Manage full-cycle recruiting across multiple functions including design, sales, operations, etc.
• Find and secure top talent, especially at senior levels, with a keen eye for industry-specific networks
• Oversee job postings, talent pipeline management, and employer branding
• Develop straightforward, effective policies and frameworks (employee handbook, performance review cycles, and WFH guidelines).
• Oversee HR essentials such as onboarding, compliance, payroll coordination, benefits, and attendance tracking
• Act as a connector between leadership and the wider team, ensuring clear communication and alignment
• Lead employee engagement and culture by organizing events, holiday parties, and initiatives to strengthen engagement and retention

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of industry recruiting experience (wholesale fashion experience)
• Strong organizational skills with experience building processes and policies
• Prior experience in senior-level hiring
• Management experience is a plus
• Familiarity with HR processes—onboarding, compliance, payroll, and benefits
• Great communicator who can partner with leadership and connect with employees at every level
