Our client, an apparel company, is looking for an Associate Design Director to join their team in NYC!
Responsibilities
- Lead the design vision for Women’s/Juniors sportswear tops and dresses, ensuring trend-right, brand-appropriate product aligned with the Creative Director’s direction.
- Manage and mentor a design team, providing clear creative guidance, workflow organization, and timely feedback to drive high-quality execution.
- Develop and execute CADs, sketches, and detailed tech packs, maintaining accuracy and speed across fast-moving design calendars.
- Partner cross-functionally with merchandising, production, and overseas teams to ensure design intent, fit consistency, cost targets, and delivery timelines are met.
- Research trends, fabrics, silhouettes, and competitive markets—particularly within off-price and fast-fashion channels—to identify new product opportunities.
Qualifications
- 5–8 years of design experience in Women’s/Juniors sportswear with a strong portfolio in tops and dresses.
- Proven expertise in off-price and fast-fashion environments, with an ability to design into high-volume, quick-turn product cycles.
- Advanced proficiency in CADs, sketching, Adobe Creative Suite, and digital design tools, with strong technical design and garment construction knowledge.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing or coaching designers while still executing hands-on creative work.
- Strong communication, time-management, and presentation skills; ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Salary : $100,000 - $120,000
