What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute Teacher position at Four Seasons Preschool of Groveland?
The Substitute/Float Assistant will communicate with the Director or Assistant Director daily for items that may need to be done Responsible for assisting all classroom teachers with the general supervision and management of the classroom as needed.
Must have a warm and friendly personality, be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others, be able to relate well to children, and be willing to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with the school’s program and philosophy.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following:
- When you arrive in the morning, start with bathroom breaks for teachers.
- Check in with teachers before you start lunch breaks and after for bathroom breaks.
- Continually check in with teachers throughout the day for breaks
- Assist in all classrooms, children, and teachers as needed
- Make a daily break schedule and confirm with teachers what time their break will be
- Stock and replenish toilet pacers, gloves, paper towels, tissues and deli paper in each room, along with making sure all baskets have spoons, forks, napkins.
- Help teacher with changing out toys in the classrooms
- Let the Director and Assistant Director know when supplies are low and make a list
- Help with light housekeeping tasks and light duty cleaning
- Report to Director or Assistant Director with any problem which may occur with children or co-workers
- Help to maintain a neat and organized classrooms
- Assist teachers as needed in planning and preparing the learning environment, setting up interest centers, and preparing needed materials and supplies.
- Help children establish good habits of personal hygiene; change diapers and s=assist with toilet training
- Work with children on the floor
- Work outdoors in a variety of weather
- Teaching children to control behavior using consistent positive appropriate approaches
- Sitting and eating with children and engaging in conversation
- Attending to other duties as assigned
- Become familiar with and able to implement all policies regarding health and safety
- Maintain professionalism in appearance
- Supporting and comforting children and assisting when necessary
- Maintain a professional attitude and loyalty to Four Seasons Preschool at all times
- Treat all children with dignity and respect
- Attend all staff meetings and recommended training programs and conferences.
- Attend parent group and school functions
- Supervise all activities to ensure safety at all time
Job Types: Part-time, Per diem
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 30 per week
Work Location: In person
