The Laundry Attendant is responsible for ensuring all hotel linens and terry items are cleaned, inspected, folded, and organized according to hotel standards. This position helps maintain an adequate inventory of quality linens to support daily hotel operations while providing a clean, safe, and organized laundry environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and organize hotel linens, towels, pillowcases, sheets, blankets, and other laundry items.
- Treat stained linens by following approved stain-removal procedures. Inspect all items after laundering, and if stains cannot be removed or items are damaged, discard them according to hotel standards to maintain quality.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of hotel linens by removing damaged items from circulation and notifying management of shortages or replacement needs.
- Operate commercial washers, dryers, folders, and other laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
- Follow all chemical handling, safety, and operating procedures.
- Ensure a continuous supply of clean linens is available for the Housekeeping Department.
- Keep the laundry room clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
- Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly.
- Restock laundry supplies and notify management when inventory is low.
- Assist with housekeeping and other departmental duties as needed.
- Follow all hotel policies, procedures, and brand standards.
Qualifications
- Previous hotel laundry or housekeeping experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Dependable with excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for an entire shift.
- Ability to frequently bend, reach, push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a warm, humid environment around commercial laundry equipment.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining productivity and quality.
