Responsibilities
- Thoroughly wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans using appropriate cleaning techniques
- Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area, including sinks, counters, and storage spaces
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as bussing tables or organizing supplies when needed
- Support the kitchen team by handling basic food handling duties in accordance with safety standards
- Ensure all items are properly stored after cleaning to prevent cross-contamination and maintain organization
- Collaborate with servers and culinary staff to ensure timely delivery of clean dishes for service or events
- Follow health and safety guidelines consistently to uphold sanitation standards in the kitchen environment
- Sorting, storing, and restocking clean items to ensure chefs and servers have enough equipment for service
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential
- Familiarity with basic cleaning procedures and food handling practices
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks with energy and efficiency
- Ability to lift up to 50-100 lbs.
- Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting culinary operations
- Knowledge of catering or banquet experience is a plus but not mandatory
- Basic understanding of hospitality principles and commitment to maintaining a clean, safe workspace
Common Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of food safety regulations
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Drug test will be required
