Responsibilities of the Pharmacy Clerk include the following:
- This person is the first team member to greet patients when they enter the door. Must be genuinely friendly with customers as well as astute at listening to what they need - whether it be getting an RX filled or listening if they have a question. Provision of excellent customer service both on the phone and in person.
- Combines clerical abilities with a dedication to customer service in order to support everyday operations. This person will ring patients out when they receive their medication, and ensure they are happy with pharmacy services. Must be able to operate the Point-of-Sale (POS) system efficiently and accurately. In addition, must be able to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment and tolerate stress.
- Addresses patient inquiries and customer complaints, including “triaging” patients to the appropriate personnel or team so the issues are addressed in a satisfactory manner.
- Manage the will-call bin. This may include coordinating with the logistics department for delivery and shipping. In addition, this may include working with pharmacy management in routinely monitoring owed and unclaimed prescriptions.
- Ensure the appearance of the store meets the requirements of the partners or their designee. Over-the-counter items will be well stocked and inventory issues will be resolved in cooperation with pharmacy management or other pharmacy personnel.
- Other projects, activities, or responsibilities assigned at the discretion of the partners or their designee.
- Minimum two years experience in a health-care or customer-service setting is preferred.
- Computer skills that include word processing and efficient use of the internet and e-mail.
- Excellent communications and mathematical skills.
- Pharmacy technician experience is preferred

- Good hand-eye coordination and the ability to lift up to at least 30 pounds.
