Job description:
BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- CMT certification must be current
- CPR certification required
- Passes medication and gives treatments according to physician’s orders and in accordance with facility policy.
- Presents medication to resident and observes ingestion or other application, or administers medication using specified procedure.
- Takes vital signs or observes resident to detect response to specified types of medications and prepares report or notifies designated personnel of unexpected reactions.
- Documents reasons prescribed drugs are not administered.
- Gives direct patient care, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding patients, and assisting in examinations and treatments as needed.
- Attends inservice education programs, as assigned, to learn new treatments, procedures, develop skills, etc.
- Reports and, when appropriate, records any changes observed in condition or behavior of residents and unusual incidents.
- Must be able to follow directions, both oral and written, and work cooperatively with other staff members.
