The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall upkeep of facilities, equipment, and vehicles. This role includes janitorial services, minor maintenance and repairs, event setup and breakdown, outdoor maintenance, and responding to facility needs in a timely and professional manner. The position requires safe work practices, the ability to operate tools and equipment, and strong attention to detail to ensure all facilities remain clean, functional, and well maintained.
Qualification Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Vocational school or technical training in maintenance, repair, or construction trade (preferred).
- Valid driver’s license with a three-year driving history and a record that complies with Corporate Transportation Safety guidelines.
- Minimum of one year of experience in facility cleaning/janitorial services (preferred).
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- General knowledge and experience in facility maintenance and repairs.
- Ability to safely handle power tools and hand tools.
- Capable of climbing ladders.
- Availability to work an eight to ten-hour shift with on-call availability for emergencies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To include the following and other duties that may be assigned.
- Maintain cleanliness in all areas, including:
- Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors
- Dusting and sanitizing surfaces, furniture, and equipment
- Emptying trash bins and properly disposing of waste
- Cleaning and disinfecting restrooms and locker rooms, replenishing supplies as needed
- Washing windows, doors, and mirrors
- Maintaining common areas, hallways, Life Center Academy (LCA), and the church
- Perform minor facility repairs, including:
- Changing light bulbs
- Fixing leaks
- Patching walls
- Report any facility issues that require professional repairs.
- Assist with campus event setup and takedown (e.g., chairs, tables, audio/visual equipment).
- Maintain outdoor areas by sweeping walkways, clearing debris, and performing snow removal when needed.
- Maintain consistent attendance and provide advance notice for lateness or absences.
- Respond efficiently to assigned tasks and prioritize work orders independently.
- Communicate effectively, ensuring written documentation is legible, concise, and thorough.
- Follow all Policies and Procedures while performing duties.
- Operate vehicles in compliance with the Transportation Safety Manual and perform basic vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
