Salary:$98,000 –$108,0000

Position Summary: The Community Partnerships Director is responsible for building, stewarding, and expanding the organization’s community relationships to strengthen program impact, volunteer engagement, and philanthropic investment. This role oversees grant management cycle, leads a robust community engagement program through strategy and execution of volunteer engagement and community events that elevate the organization’s visibility and deepen community support. The Director ensures that all partnerships; corporate, civic, philanthropic, and volunteer are cultivated with excellence, aligned with organizational values, and stewarded to maximize resources for the women veterans and families served.  


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Grants Management (30%)  

  • Seek out and qualify funding opportunities aligned with organizational priorities.  
  • Lead full lifecycle of grant processes, including proposal reviews, budgeting, submissions, reporting, and compliance.  
  • Maintain grants schedule, track deadlines, deliverables, and reporting requirements.  
  • Collaborate with program and finance teams to gather data, outcomes, and financials for proposals and reports.  
  • Strengthen relationships with foundations, corporate giving teams, government agencies, and philanthropic partners.  
  • Monitor grant performance, ensure fulfillment of obligations, and support evaluation efforts.  


Volunteer Program Oversight (35%)  

  • Design, manage, and grow a comprehensive volunteer program that supports organizational programs and events.  
  • Recruit, screen, train, and steward individual volunteers and corporate volunteer groups.  
  • Develop volunteer roles, impact metrics, and recognition strategies.  
  • Maintain volunteer databases, track engagement, and ensure compliance with organizational policies.  
  • Cultivate long-term volunteer ambassadors who advance the organization’s mission and presence in the community.  


Events & Community Engagement (35%)  

  • Lead planning and execution of organizational events including annual fundraisers such as Marine Corps Marathon, in-person professional development, and other events as needed.  
  • Oversee event logistics, vendor management, budgets, timelines, and volunteer coordination.  
  • Partner with the communications team to ensure cohesive branding, storytelling, and promotional efforts.  
  • Represent the organization at community meetings, partner gatherings, conferences, and networking events.  
  • Cultivate new and existing community partnerships with civic groups, corporations, veteran organizations, colleges, and service networks.  

  

Required Qualifications  

  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, public administration, communications, or related field (or equivalent experience).  
  • 10 years of experience in one or more of the following: grants management, volunteer leadership, community engagement, or event management.  
  • Proven success in writing grants and developing funding streams.  
  • Strong relationship-building skills across diverse stakeholders.  
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.  
  • Commitment to the organization’s mission and passion for serving the military/veteran community (or similar service-oriented community).  


Preferred Qualifications  

  • Experience within a nonprofit, veteran-serving, or community development organization.  
  • Familiarity with donor databases, CRM platforms, and project management software.  
  • Highly experienced managing volunteers and volunteer groups.  
  • Experience with large-scale event execution and partnership cultivation.
