Foundation for Hospital Art is a global non-profit organization dedicated to softening the hospital environment and loving and comforting patients through art. Our dream to uplift patients and medical staffs is in full bloom and we are seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to help us further our mission.
The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for managing the day-to-day coordination of volunteers in the Foundation for Hospital Art’s Woodstock studio. The position will also include assisting and possibly leading some external events. Duties will include corresponding, communicating, and scheduling volunteers daily in the studio. The position includes briefing volunteers and overseeing their work in the studio. The role also involves helping with any studio tasks as needed to support the mission of the Foundation.
Responsibilities:
· Communication (verbal and written) and scheduling for all individual and group volunteer requests using the platform Volunteer Local.
· Provide volunteer orientation for all new volunteers
· Manage volunteers during all scheduled volunteer sessions
· Ensure that studio priorities are maintained on all canvas touch-up
Secondary Responsibilities
· Assist and possibly lead sponsored PaintFest Events (travel required)
· Assist in the drawing and production of custom designs, as needed
Required Skills
· Excellent people skills and confidence to manage large groups
· Exceptional project management skills
· Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written
· Artistic aptitude and background
· Ability to lift heavy boxes of paint, canvas and other art supplies
· Familiarity with Volunteer Local is a plus, but not required
Travel Requirements: An average of 10% travel, including international, is to be expected.
