The Foundation for Early Childhood Education, Inc. (Foundation) is seeking accomplished and community-minded leaders to join its Board of Directors. Established in 1966, Foundation is a nonprofit organization committed to advancing educational equity by providing comprehensive early childhood education and family support services through Head Start, Early Head Start, and State Preschool programs. Funded by the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) and the California Department of Education (CDE), Foundation serves approximately 500 children—from 18 months to kindergarten entry—across Los Angeles communities including Boyle Heights, Echo Park, Hollywood, and Lincoln Heights. As a member of the Board of Directors, you will play an integral role in: • Shaping the organization’s long-term strategic direction and priorities • Ensuring strong governance, fiscal integrity, and organizational accountability • Supporting leadership in advancing quality improvement and community impact • Serving as an ambassador for the mission and values of the Foundation • Participating in identifying prospective donors for fundraising activities We are seeking individuals with expertise in education, finance, law, nonprofit management, philanthropy, community development, fundraising, or health and human services, as well as those who bring diverse perspectives and a deep commitment to improving outcomes for children and families.
