Role Description
This is a volunteer role as a Board Member for the American Red Cross Northern Valleys Chapter. Responsibilities include attending quarterly board meetings, participating in fundraising and community engagement activities, guiding organizational priorities, and offering expertise to help drive decision-making and support the organization’s strategic goals. Applicants must reside, work or have an affinity to the San Fernando, Santa Clarita or Antelope Valleys.
Last year, the American Red Cross:
- Responded to 62,000 disasters, big and small, providing shelter, food, comfort and more.
- Provided lifesaving training and information in first aid, water safety and other skills to more than 6.2 million people.
- Provided more than 422,000 services to service members, veterans and their families.
- Collected, tested and delivered about 6.6 million units—40% of the nation’s blood supply— for patients in need.
- Provided disaster, recovery or disease prevention activities benefiting nearly 174 million people outside the U.S.
Red Cross Board Functions and Requirements
