Experienced Heavy Equipment Field Service Mechanic
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Heavy Equipment Field Service Mechanic to join our growing team. This is a hybrid position that combines shop-based work with extensive field service responsibilities throughout the Southeastern United States. After completing training and familiarization with our equipment, the majority of your time will be spent traveling to customer job sites performing diagnostics, repairs, inspections, and technical support.
This position is ideal for a mechanic who enjoys problem-solving, working independently, and traveling to support customers in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain heavy construction and foundation equipment.
- Perform field service repairs on hydraulic, diesel, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Travel to customer job sites throughout the Southeastern United States to perform service work, inspections, commissioning, and operator training.
- Complete scheduled preventative maintenance and emergency repair work.
- Read and interpret hydraulic schematics, electrical diagrams, service manuals, and technical drawings.
- Perform equipment inspections and prepare detailed service reports.
- Operate service trucks and maintain inventory of tools and parts.
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding equipment issues and repair recommendations.
- Assist with equipment preparation, repairs, and rebuilds in the shop when not traveling.
- Maintain a safe work environment and follow all company safety procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of heavy equipment mechanic experience required.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Ability to diagnose and repair equipment independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience reading hydraulic and electrical schematics.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and customer service abilities.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Travel Requirements
- Must be willing and able to travel .
- Regular overnight travel is required.
- Occasional weekend work may be required based on customer needs.
- Must be comfortable working independently at customer job sites.
- Company vehicle, travel expenses, lodging, and per diem provided in accordance with company policy.

Only experienced candidates with 5 years of heavy equipment mechanic experience will be considered.
Pay: From $30.00 per hour
