Position Description: The Community Engagement Coordinator will work to recruit and engage with community members, inviting them to invest their treasure and time as volunteers through the organization's large in-kind giving programs. The Community Engagement Coordinator will focus on relationship building using various strategies to keep supporters and volunteers engaged while deepening their relationship with Foundation Communities.
Ideal candidates will be able to:
Effectively persuade prospective and current supporters to support Foundation Communities residents through service and giving and build authentic relationships with neighbors from all types of backgrounds.
Stay organized and stay on top of all the community good you are coordinating.
Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders at all levels, including internal staff and external volunteers and donors.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage Welcome Home Baskets in-kind giving program, including timelines, internal & external communications, driving progress and reporting
- Support Home for the Holidays and Back to School Drive internal communications and logistics
- Collaborate with relevant program staff, the Corporate Engagement Committee, and other relevant team members across the organization.
- Inspire and motivate volunteers and donors to invest their time and stay informed about programs, using your own shiny and creative and consistent communication techniques.
- Establish and implement project timelines for community engagement efforts across multiple program areas; supper clubs, corporate group service and events.
- Use your best in class customer service skills to manage high volumes of communication through email and phone.
- Engage with local partner organizations and develop new relationships to invite more community participation.
- Track community good by maintaining robust records, data, and reporting using multiple systems.
- Engage volunteers and supporters through communications, events, recognition and relationship management.
- Create spaces where people are comfortable and truly want to be. Where staff, clients, and volunteers are encouraged to come as they are and know they are accepted, included, and respected. That includes you!
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience with community engagement, volunteer management, and/or fundraising.
- Demonstrate strong excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to manage concurrent projects and tasks with competing deadlines.
- Adapts easily to new technologies. Uses technology to increase productivity. Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to build authentic relationships with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work well independently and also committed to a team environment.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:
- General work in the main office, including sitting or standing, twisting at a desk, computer keyboarding, making and taking phone calls.
- Frequent events and visits to different Foundation Communities locations.
- Occasionally lifting up to 20 pounds.
- Position requires some night and weekend events.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation is required.

Salary and Benefits: This is a full-time position, working a 40 hour workweek, hourly pay range of $25.50/hour time and a half for overtime hours. Position requires some evening and weekend hours for events.
