What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quoting Coordinator position at Foundation Building Materials?
At Foundation Building Materials (FBM), Quoting Coordinators play a critical role in supporting sales operations by preparing accurate, timely quotes and creating potential opportunities within the CRM system. This position partners closely with sales teams, customers, and internal departments to ensure pricing accuracy, clear communication, and a seamless customer experience from quote through order fulfillment.
- Quoting & Sales Support
- Prepare, maintain, and manage customer quotes with accurate pricing, configurations, and documentation
- Create and track potential sales opportunities within the CRM system
- Ensure quotes are completed accurately and within required timelines to meet customer expectations
- Under defined guidelines, quote jobs for customers and assist with product pricing
- Maintain proper project details, documentation, and order information for large or complex projects
Customer & Account Support
- Provide professional, courteous communication with customers before, during and after the sale
- Fax, mail, or electronically distribute submittals, material specifications, and pricing to customers
- Conduct proactive outbound calls to house accounts to strengthen relationships and support growth
- Support inside sales activity and follow up on office-based sales opportunities
- Help build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, contractors, influencers, and strategic partners
Coordination & Communication
- Communicate customer needs clearly across branch teams and internal departments
- Ensure accurate and timely information is provided to departments involved in each sale
- Participate in job tracking, follow-ups, and ongoing sales coordination as requested
- Communicate sales issues, challenges, and opportunities to the direct manager
Market & Product Knowledge
- Stay current on market conditions, industry trends, new product offerings, and company initiatives.
- Maintain working knowledge of basic construction systems, products, and installation practices.
Administrative & Compliance
- Assist with administrative duties as needed to support sales operations
- Maintain accurate records and comply with all company requirements for administrative reporting.
- Attend required sales meetings and company training programs
Miscellaneous

- Other duties as assigned.
Other Responsibilities
- Ensure proper information is provided to other departments that would be involved with each sale in a timely, and accurate manner
- Must attend all required meetings in relation to sales any company required training programs
- Assist pricing of product
- Knowledgeable in basic construction systems, products and installation
- Communicate clear and effectively both verbally and written to internal and external customers
Qualifications
Education/Experience / Licenses and Certifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent in work experience and/or training.
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Product
- Prefer knowledge in basic construction systems, products and installation
