We are seeking an experienced litigation support professional to join our growing California team. The OpportunityFGMC is seeking a full-time Litigation Paralegal with 2- 4 years of experience to join our civil litigation practice group in our Los Angeles office. This role is integral to our defense litigation team - we need someone who thinks critically, works independently, and can help us find the needle in a haystack across complex case files. You will support attorneys through all phases of litigation, from case intake and discovery through trial preparation and beyond.
Key Responsibilities• Draft and prepare pleadings, discovery, correspondence, and standard litigation documents, including expert witness-related filings
• Manage and organize case files, discovery documents, and document productions
• Prepare medical chronologies and discovery summaries
• Draft and process subpoenas for documents, including government entity subpoenas for notices of violations
• Assist with the retention and coordination of expert witnesses
• Support attorneys in preparing for depositions, hearings, and trials, including assembling trial binders
• Process medical record requests and organize medical records
• E-file documents in California state courts and federal courts (including CM/ECF)
• Docket and calendar case deadlines and court dates
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, courts, vendors, and firm staff
• Enter and track billable time accurately
QualificationsRequired:
• 2 - 4 years of civil litigation paralegal experience, preferably in California defense litigation
• Familiarity with California rules of civil procedure and local court rules in state and federal court
• Experience with e-filing in California state courts and federal courts (CM/ECF)
• Proficiency with PDF processing software (Adobe Acrobat, Kofax, or similar) for Bates numbering, headers/footers, redaction, and document assembly
• Strong writing and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
• Attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving approach
• Team player with a dependable, “can-do” work ethic
• Experience with the discovery process, including document production and management
Preferred:
• Experience with Everlaw or other e-discovery platforms
• Document management system experience
• Ability to format appellate briefs, including Tables of Contents and Tables of Authorities
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Westlaw research experience
Work ArrangementThis position is based in FGMC’s Woodland Hills (Los Angeles) office. A hybrid work arrangement may be available for the right candidate, with regular in-person attendance expected to support team collaboration and case management needs.
CompensationThe good-faith estimated salary range for this position upon hire is $65,000 – $85,000 annually, depending on the candidate’s skills, training, qualifications, and experience. This range reflects what the firm reasonably expects to pay at the time of hire. Actual compensation may vary and could exceed this range based on relevant qualifications and other job-related factors.
