Essential Job Functions
- Assist in implementing project planning and scheduling strategy, plans and procedures.
- Assist in coordinating the development and implementation of project Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS) in coordination with Project Leads, Cost Engineers, and Contractor Project Leads.
- May assist with preparing contract time determinations based on plans and specifications.
- Assist with evaluating cost and/or resource loaded planning schedules.
- Assist in evaluating baseline and monthly schedule submittals for compliance with contract specifications. Evaluating deviations from the baseline.
- Monitor and track construction schedule progress by conducting project schedule analysis, critical path analysis and schedule risk analysis.
- Identify schedule activities that control the overall construction time or project's critical path.
- Identify and measure the impact changes have on project schedules by conducting Time Impact Analyses (TIA). Also, able to evaluate TIAs submitted by others.
- Provide recommendations to resolve the time, scope, and cost aspects of project changes or delays.
- Prepare technical reports to communicate findings and recommendation.
- Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or comparable practical experience preferred (other degree and/or experience will be considered in lieu of degree).
- 3-5 years of construction scheduling experience an aviation or transportation projects.
- 3-8 years of scheduling principles, critical path method (CPM) scheduling, and risk analysis techniques.
- Experience interpreting and analyzing construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Familiarity with Schedule Analyzer or similar schedule analytics software.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
- The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving machinery & mechanical parts, uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to loud noise, and outside weather conditions.
- The physical requirements must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Intermittent unassisted sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, stooping, crawling, pushing and lifting is required. Must be able to walk and/or stand for prolonged periods of time for at least eight hours per day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move light equipment up to 50 pounds without assistance. Must be alert to equipment in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, ability to walk on uneven ground while physically maneuvering construction sites, ability to work in extreme temperatures or humidity, and potentially work at heights.
- Possession of a valid state of residence driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Daily travel to and from construction sites, generally within 100 miles from the home office is expected. Short term, out of town, assignments may be required. Long term, out of town, assignments may be required, with advance notice of planned dates.
- May be required to work protracted and irregular hours to meet client's needs, including nights, overtime and weekends.
