We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Dispatcher Reidsville NC, to coordinate transportation activities efficiently. This vital role involves managing freight movements, utilizing advanced transportation management systems, and ensuring seamless communication between drivers, customers, and internal teams. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong analysis skills, excellent communication, and a proactive approach to logistics coordination. Duties
- Secure container bookings through systems such as and coordinate with buyers and freight forwarders to meet cut-off deadlines.
- Dispatch company drivers and third-party haulers for empty container pick-ups, loading at originating yards, and return appointments to the port.
- Develop and communicate daily/weekly shipping plans with yard teams and stakeholders.
- Manage high-volume dispatching of loads, including scheduling pick-ups, returns, and container movements.
- Collect loading documentation and photos from yards; prepare and submit draft Bills of Lading (BLs).
- Monitor shipment status, track containers “hitting the water,” and handle any post-departure paperwork adjustments.
- Maintain accurate records in spreadsheets, (for brokered loads), and other tracking tools.
- Input payroll for port drivers and process/approve invoices for contract haulers and chassis providers.
- Proactively communicate via phone and email with drivers, haulers, yards, buyers, and freight forwarders to resolve issues and ensure smooth operations.
- Ensure drivers maintain valid permits and coordinate truck maintenance through the shop team as needed.
- Support export compliance by processing required paperwork and documentation.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience in logistics dispatching, transportation coordination, port/export operations, or freight brokerage (recycling or shipping industry experience is a strong plus).
- Strong multitasking and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; comfortable managing frequent phone and email interactions with diverse stakeholders.
- Solid problem-solving abilities and the capacity to perform well under pressure.
- High work ethic, reliability, and self-motivation — must be a true team player who thrives in a fast-paced setting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Suite; experience with dispatching/logistics software (Sealink, CIETRADE, or similar) is highly preferred.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including early mornings, evenings, or occasional weekends to align with port and vessel schedules.

Experience
- Proven experience with transportation management systems (TMS) such as Oracle Transportation Management or similar platforms

- Experience in freight coordination within a 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) environment preferred
- Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures, including freight documentation and compliance standards
- Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and written correspondence
- Ability to handle data entry accurately using systems like SyteLine or AS400; proficiency in typing quickly and accurately is essential
Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour
