Medical Assistant – Full-Time

Position Summary:
The Sleep Disorder Center of Louisiana is seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Assistant (MA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting our physicians and nurse practitioners in delivering high-quality care to patients with sleep-related health concerns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete initial patient evaluations, documenting:
- Medication history
- Medical, surgical, family, and social history
- Update patient information as needed
- Make, receive, and handle medically related phone calls as directed by the physician and/or nurse practitioner
- Call in prescription refills to pharmacies within 24 hours of patient request
- Answer and return all patient and/or family calls in a timely and professional manner
Qualifications:
- Experience: 3–5 years working as a Medical Assistant in a physician's office
- Certification: MA certification preferred, but not required
- Required: Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Skills:
- Proficient in taking vital signs and conducting medical history intake
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Team-oriented and adaptable to changing situations and new tasks
