CFO (construction industry required) - Columbia SC
We are seeking an accomplished CFO with extensive experience in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will be growth‑oriented and bring a balanced blend of strategic planning and execution, operational scalability, and a hands‑on approach to finance and accounting leadership.
Responsibilities
- Partner with ownership to establish disciplined risk‑management practices with regards to contracts, capital structure and development / investment decisions, balancing risk, short and long-term ROI
- Develop financial models, scenario analyses and investment frameworks, assessing, evaluating and driving initiatives to pursue market expansion, new service offerings and real estate development projects, acquisitions or joint ventures
- Maintain financial systems, processes and internal controls and execute accurate job costing, forecasting and real‑time project performance insights
- Execute forecasting and cash‑flow management across multiple concurrent projects and long cash‑cycle environments, leading capital allocation, liquidity planning and bonding‑capacity while maintaining strong capability in core accounting functions and project finance.
- Support Controller and lead a small, high performance accounting team, balancing leadership with a willingness to do hands-on, detailed work
- Drive modernization across finance, leading the evaluation, selection and implementation of technologies that streamline and standardize workflow and enhance reporting capabilities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s required; CPA, CMA or MBA highly preferred
- 15 years of financial leadership within the specialty construction industry
- 5 years of capital-intensive real estate development experience
- Demonstrated success in entrepreneurial companies, working with founder-led and private ownership groups
Salary : $175,000 - $225,000
