The Role
As a Principal Systems Analyst, the role requires rapidly gaining a deep understanding of application components, data flow, integrations, and platform inputs and outputs. Expertise in Mainframe COBOL, VSAM files, Batch/Online Processes, Batch Scheduler, IOM, and CICS, along with experience in finance, corporate actions, and payment systems, supports effective analysis and solution design. Proficiency in SQL (DB2, Oracle, Postgres), REST/SOAP APIs, JSON, and Behavior Driven Development, coupled with knowledge of Agile development methodologies, facilitates the development of optimized, scalable software solutions.
Responsibilities include researching, documenting, and optimizing system requirements, user stories, and specifications for moderate to complex software systems. The role involves producing clear technical artifacts, including business flow diagrams and documentation, and articulating complex system interactions to diverse technical and non-technical audiences. Experience with release coordination, incident analysis, Splunk queries, dashboards, and alerts supports operational excellence. The position delivers value by reducing design and requirements risk, ensuring clarity and precision in technical solutions, and taking accountability for independently driving results while staying current with evolving technology.
