Title: Community Engagement Coordinator
Unit: Senior Housing
Reports to: Social Worker
Status: Full Time; Regular; Non-Exempt
Salary Range: $24.73 to $26.93 (approximately $45,000 to $49,000 annually)
Location: Bronx
Days/Hours: Monday to Friday, generally 9am - 5pm, flexibility require
Position Summary:
The Community Engagement Coordinator will work closely with the Program Manager and Senior Case Managers to coordinate and organize opportunities that support community engagement for formerly incarcerated seniors, including engagement in the larger Fortune community, as well as in communities of their individual interest such as those of their music and art interests and faith communities. The Community Engagement Coordinator will provide robust community development opportunities, advocate for community members, assists clients directly with information and referral services, and facilitates an awareness of social needs and trends within the community. Such engagement is extremely important to ensure that residents do not become isolated.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Work closely with the Program Manager (position supervisor), to ensure that quality programming, groups and supports are put into place for the residents to ensure community engagement.

Group Facilitator for groups such as Financial Literacy, groups targeting the aging in place population, wellness groups that may include yoga, art, book club and others.

Assist Program Manager and Senior Case Manager in developing appropriate group content for their group activities.

Work cohesively with the Senior Housing team to ensure that wraparound supports are in place to ensure that seniors are assisted with attaining and maintaining health and wellness.

Building partnerships with external providers to ensure quality implementation of supportive groups and services onsite.

Ensure that Senior Housing is connected to the larger Fortune community to enable residents to easily partake of available services and activities.

Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- LMSW or LCSW required;
- Minimum of one year experience working with the senior homeless population preferred
- Some work or internship experience in dealing with either significant psychiatric issues, trauma or incarceration;
- Minimum of 2 years of staff supervision experience preferred;
- Bilingual Spanish-speaking preferred;
- Strong computer skills, particularly in electronic health records;
- Excellent resident-engagement and counseling skills;
- Excellent clinical note writing and time management skills;
- SIFI certification a plus;

Travel Requirements: May require travel to our LIC and Harlem locations and/or NYC trainings as necessary.
