What are the responsibilities and job description for the Strategic Account Manager – Transportation & Supply Chain position at Fortune Logistics?
Fortune Logistics | Sioux Falls, SD | Full-time, On-site
Strategic Account Manager – Transportation & Supply Chain
You already understand how major shippers move freight. Now use that knowledge to build something of your own.
Fortune Logistics is looking for an experienced transportation, logistics, supply chain or procurement professional who understands the shipper side of the transportation industry.
If you've worked for a large food manufacturer, consumer-products company, industrial manufacturer, distributor, or other major shipper—and you've spent your career dealing with transportation providers, carriers, brokers, freight procurement or distribution—we want to talk with you.
You know what shippers need. We know how to move the freight.
Together, we can build something much bigger.
Why this opportunity is different
You've probably spent years working inside the transportation and supply-chain operation of a major company.
You've seen:
- How freight is awarded
- How carriers and brokers are evaluated
- Why some providers win and others don't
- How transportation costs affect the business
- What causes service failures
- How procurement decisions are made
- How transportation relationships are built
- Where companies struggle to find capacity
- What makes a transportation provider valuable
That knowledge is extremely valuable on the other side of the table.
At Fortune Logistics, you'll use that experience to develop and manage customer relationships with shippers that have significant transportation needs.
We're not looking for someone to simply maintain a list of accounts.
We're looking for someone who can identify opportunities, develop relationships with decision-makers and build a substantial book of transportation business.
