Position Summary:

The Cashier will greet customers and ensure they receive efficient, courteous service. The Cashier may receive and answer customer questions and complaints within established guidelines. The Cashier will maintain inventory and cash control per company guidelines. The Cashier will perform a wide variety of tasks involved in the stocking, cleaning and minor maintenance of equipment, shelves, displays, cooler/freezers, floors, windows, backroom, restrooms, sidewalks and gas pump islands. 

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

The Nett Lake Store Cashier is responsible for the following duties:

• Provide quality guest service by greeting customers and maintaining friendly, helpful, courteous, and professional customer relations.
• Operate gas console, lotto machine, cash register, and electronic credit card machine for the sale of gas and lottery tickets.
• Process purchase, total bill, accept payment, and make change for customers; wrap or bag merchandise for customer.
• Maintain accurate cash/checks and change management and accountability of all company funds, responsible for related shift reports.
• Stock shelves, counters, or tables with merchandise, set up displays to promote sales, mark, or tag price on merchandise.
• Perform the following Deli duties: 

• Brew coffee.
• Prepare, wrap, and serve some food items.
• Restock service counter.
• Operate pizza oven.

• Stock and maintain the following inside: 

• Checkout counter and equipment.
• Fast food/Deli counter and equipment, displays, shelves, coolers/freezers, floors, windows, backroom, and restrooms. 
• Clean, sweep and mop.

• Clean and maintain the following outside areas: 

• Sidewalks. 
• Pump islands.
• Ice machine and displays.
• Shovel snow and sweep sidewalks.

• Fulfill the following Post Office Clerk duties:

• Issue and cash domestic money orders.
• Accept and respond to customer claims and inquiries.
• Provide information to the public regarding postal regulations.
• Accept and deliver packages and mail.
• Operate cash register for the sale of a variety of postal supplies.
• Maintain a sufficient postal supply inventory.

• Empty ashtrays, clean smoking areas and empty garbage containers when needed.
• Report all injuries or cuts immediately to the Nett Lake Store Manager and fill out necessary paperwork.
• Perform extra duties on slow shifts, referring to daily, weekly, and monthly lists.
• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness for a comfortable and safe work environment.

Qualifications – Education and Experience:

Minimum Qualifications:

• None required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Retail sales experience.
• Customer service skills.

Work Environment:

The work environment is fast-paced and requires overall good mental and physical health.

Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods of time.
 Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
 Ability to endure harsh weather conditions.
 Ability to crouch, crawl, and kneel.
