What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Technician Intern position at Fort Wayne Zoo?
Applications are being accepted for a full-time Veterinary Technician Intern to join the Fort Wayne Zoo team. This Zoo medicine internship is a six-month position intended to provide clinically focused experience in a zoological medical setting, with the potential for renewal for an additional six months.
Responsibilities: The Veterinary Technician Intern will learn alongside seasoned Zoo Vet Techs and Zoo Veterinarians by conducting clinical and laboratory procedures in the veterinary hospital. Requirements: Graduation from an accredited Veterinary Technology program and eligibility for an Indiana Veterinary Technician registration are required. Valid Indiana Veterinary Technician registration is required within one month of hire and must be maintained throughout employment. Previous experience working as a veterinary technician and/or in a zoological setting is preferred.
Benefits: This is a full-time, six-month long position requiring availability for a 40-hour work week.
