Club Orchestra Classroom Assistant
The Fort Wayne Philharmonic Club Orchestras program, including Club O (grades 2-5) and Club Kid-O (Pre-K to grade 1), is part of El Sistema, a visionary world movement transforming the lives of children and their communities through music. The mission of the program is to empower children by providing an intensive orchestra training program that teaches teamwork and self-confidence and instills social responsibility.
The Club Orchestra program has the following open positions for the upcoming school year, which may be located at any one of our partner schools, including Forest Park, South Wayne, and Waynedale Elementary Schools:
Club Orchestras Classroom Assistant (Grades K-1 or 2-5)
- Elementary education experience required
- Assist Teaching Artist with classroom management and student support
- May assist in either Kid-O general music class (K-1) or Club O violin ensemble class (grades 2-5), to be determined based on current openings at each location.
- Rehearsals begin September 9, 2025, and conclude May 14, 2026, except for school breaks
- Weekly rehearsal schedule: Tuesday and Thursday, 3:15-5:00 p.m.
Requirements
- Engaged by a Personal Service Agreement (PSA) for a full season
Staff meetings will take place before the program begins, during the season, and after the season with dates subject to change.- Teaching staff may participate with students in additional performances throughout the season, including the May 12, 2026 Celebration Concert with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic at the Purdue Fort Wayne Music Center.
