ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Read and understand production orders to identify work priorities and requirements to correctly run the job for re-spooling, eddy current testing, and/or cleaning processes; this varies based on the equipment in the facility to which the employee is assigned.
- Determine the correct spool, special instructions, particular attachments, and resources needed to properly run supply wire on re-spooling equipment. Set up and monitor re-spooling equipment. Re-spool material onto multiple spools and splits to meet the required footage, as necessary. Run even level winds at all times by visual observation and constant hand and number adjustments to ensure that the wire is winding in a straight line from side to side. If not, making resource adjustments or re-spooling must be done.
- Make labels using accurate information and pack material correctly.
- Prepare and clean wire by operating the Hot Alkaline Cleaners or Ultrasonic Cleaners according to production orders to meet internal and external customer specifications, as applicable.
- Complete non-destructive testing to look for variations in the electrical conductivity and the magnetic permeability of the wire through the eddy current test method. Identify and mark defects.
- Visually inspect wire coming off of resources, acting as first-line inspection, to ensure product quality. Take action for wire not meeting quality expectations, as necessary.
- Keep assigned work and storage areas clean and organized.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
EXPERIENCE:
- 1 year of previous manufacturing experience is preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Fast-paced production environment.
