FORT WAYNE COMMUNITY SCHOOLS STUDENT INTERN | NUTRITION
BASIC FUNCTION:
Prepare and serve food items; perform cashiering duties as assigned; maintain food service facilities, equipment and utensils in a clean and sanitary condition.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Applicant must currently be a Fort Wayne Community Schools high school senior.
- Ability to balance academic responsibilities with work commitments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist in the preparation and packaging of food items under the guidance of cafeteria staff.
- Maintain cleanliness in food service areas, including counters, tables, and equipment.
- Support in the assembly of entrees, fruits, vegetables, sandwiches, and desserts.
- Aid in the receipt, storage, and rotation of food items and supplies.
- Safely operate standard food service equipment with proper training and supervision.
- Assist with inventory activities and replenishment of food containers.
- Safely operate standard food service equipment under the guidance and supervision of cafeteria staff.
- Follow training protocols for the operation of ovens, slicers, warmers, and other relevant equipment.
- Follow established procedures and portion control standards.
- Uphold HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) standards in all food-related activities.
- Work collaboratively with cafeteria staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Communicate effectively and seek guidance when needed.
- Balance academic responsibilities with work commitments effectively.
- Manage time efficiently to fulfill both school and work obligations.
