PURPOSE
Performs a variety of technical support functions for the Facilities
Department involved in the documentation and management of all digital and printed
files, creation and updating of various materials for the District; utilize related computer systems, peripheral equipment and specialized software; assist with field conditions documentation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Any combination equivalent to: Associates degree or certificate in architectural or building technology, drafting or related field and two years’ experience in the creation, design, layout and production of architectural and civil drawings including work with specialized desktop computer software and applications including but not limited to AutoCAD, BIM, Procore, Matterport, Adobe, Bluebeam Revu, Illustrator, PhotoShop, SketchUp, and Microsoft suite.
- Must have strong office, computer, oral and written communication skills.
- Must possess knowledge of the technical processes, practices, procedures and terminology used in assigned fields of architectural and construction design.
- Must possess a valid Indiana Driver’s license.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Operate computer systems, specialized software and peripheral equipment to create a variety of building and site plans; develop and prepare final construction documents for small renovation projects, archive drawings, base plans, security and technology plans and a variety of other materials for the District.
- Collaborate with the Facilities Department and other departments to coordinate projects involving construction and archive plans; consult with and assist Facility staff with the planning, development and layout of projects and related specifications.
- Assists in project close-out procedures for all projects including: arranging and archiving of hard copy files; receipts of necessary close out documents; archiving of all digital files; receipt and archiving of all As Built and CAD drawings.
- Updates all District site and architectural base plans, security and technology equipment and life-safety plans.
- Performs field inspections to verify and document room dimensions and conditions for floorplan creation using tape measure, digital tape measure, 360-degree camera and Matterport.
- Ability to read and interpret land title surveys, route survey plats, legal descriptions and topographic survey drawings.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings as they relate to site, utilities, architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, plumbing and technology construction.
