Responsibilities
- Lead and facilitate a variety of camp activities including educational and creative activities, and outdoor adventures that promote childhood development and teamwork.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement and behavior management techniques to ensure a respectful and safe environment.
- Supervising children during activities, meal times, rest periods, and transitions throughout the day.
- Implement safety protocols by maintaining awareness of surroundings, conducting regular safety checks, and responding promptly to emergencies with first aid or other appropriate measures.
- Support children with special needs or those requiring additional assistance by adapting activities and providing individualized attention when necessary.
- Foster a nurturing atmosphere aligned with FWCL practices to promote emotional well-being.
- Collaborate with fellow staff members to provide a fun environment where students can learn, ensure smooth operations, and maintain open communication with parents or guardians as needed.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in educational settings such as daycare, preschool, tutoring programs, or summer camps is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated skills in classroom management, behavior management, and childhood development are essential for creating a positive camp environment.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is a plus.
- Experience in teaching, babysitting, sports coaching, theater arts or working with students of various ages will enhance your effectiveness in this role.
