Job Title: Summer Camp Counselor
Position Summary: The Summer Camp Counselor is responsible for the care, supervision, and spiritual guidance of campers during the summer camp season. Counselors serve as role models and mentors, helping to create a safe, fund and spiritually enriching environment. They lead activities, facilitate Bible Studies, and encourage campers to grow in their faith while fostering a positive camp community. The counselor’s role is crucial in ensuring a meaningful and memorable experience for each camper.
All staff will work at multiple LOMIK sites this summer including Lake Luther, Lutherwald, & Lutheran Hills. Transportation and staff activities will be coordinated by LOMIK between weeks of camp. All staff have July 4-12th (noon to noon) off for mid summer break.

Qualifications:
- Strong Christian faith and commitment to the values of camp
- Previous experience working with children, youth, or in a camp setting (preferred but not required)
- Ability to lead by example in both faith & behavior
- Strong interpersonal & communication skills with a heart for mentoring and supporting others
- Enthusiasm for camp activities and a positive, flexible attitude
- Ability to work as a part of a team and contribute to a positive camp culture
Must be able to work in an outdoor environment for extended periods
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in an outdoor camp environment for extended periods in various weather conditions
- Ability to lift and carry camp supplies and equipment
- Ability to lead and participate in physical activities

Position Type: Seasonal (Summer Camp)
Due to the nature of camp life, it is understood that daily work hours will be irregular. Camp life often requires work beyond the usual 40 hour/5 days a week routine. It will be necessary to work some weekends, including Sundays.
