The Assistant Gymnastics Coach is responsible for supporting the Head Coach in developing a competitive, positive, and growth-oriented gymnastics program. This role focuses on teaching fundamental skills, fostering teamwork, promoting sportsmanship, and encouraging academic and personal development among student-athletes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and leading practices that focus on skill development, strategy, and team culture
- Provide guidance and mentorship to student-athletes in line with school and district values
- Help manage game-day operations (lineups, warmups, in-competition adjustments)
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and respectful team environment
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school staff
- Support academic accountability and monitor student-athlete eligibility
- Uphold and enforce all CHSAA, school, and district policies
- Attend all practices, competitions, and required coaching meetings
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of gymnastics rules, techniques, and coaching strategies
- Prior coaching or playing experience preferred
- Ability to build positive relationships with high school students
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Completion of CHSAA required certifications and background check

Job Summary:
The High School Girls Gymnastics Coach is responsible for all aspects of the girls' Gymnastics program, focusing on developing athletes’ skills, strength, and sportsmanship. This role includes supporting practices, traveling with the team to competitions, and helping to foster a positive, inclusive environment that promotes personal growth and athletic excellence. The coach will work in alignment with Fort Morgan High School’s athletic philosophy and goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Practice Support and Execution: Aid in planning and conducting daily practices, emphasizing Gymnastics techniques, conditioning, and strength training.
- Athlete Skill Development: Provide one-on-one and small-group instruction to help athletes improve Gymnastics techniques.
- Competition Preparation and Support: Assist with event preparation, travel arrangements, and management during tournaments and meets, including warm-ups, strategy discussions, and sideline coaching.
- Encourage Sportsmanship and Discipline: Model and reinforce positive behavior, team cohesion, and respect among athletes, both in and out of competition.
- Safety and Welfare of Student-Athletes: Ensure all practices and competitions are conducted safely, with attention to injury prevention; collaborate with athletic trainers and staff in handling minor injuries.
- Communication: Maintain open, constructive communication with athletes, parents, assistant coaches and the athletic department.
Qualifications:
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; prior Gymnastics experience (as a gymnast or coach) is highly preferred, particularly in a high school or competitive setting.
- Coaching Knowledge: Familiarity with Gymnastics techniques, rules, and strategies, along with a commitment to adhering to safety standards.
- Leadership and Motivation Skills: Ability to inspire and encourage student-athletes to reach their full potential.
- Interpersonal Skills: Works collaboratively with the coaching staff, athletes, and other school staff, maintaining positive relationships and a supportive team environment.
- Commitment: Available for practices, meets, and tournaments, with dedication to the athletes' development.
Salary : $2,800 - $3,360
