Veterinary Technician/Assistant

Responsibilities and Duties

Perform typical duties related to patient care and treatment, and to provide miscellaneous support to the veterinary practice manager and health care team. These service functions include, but are not limited to assisting technicians with: appointments and surgeries, obtaining samples on patients, setting up in house diagnostics, maintenance of veterinary medical records, communicating with clients, etc. This position requires a practical knowledge of hospital organization and services, the basic rules and regulations governing visitors and animal patient treatment, and a practical knowledge of the standard procedures, veterinary records and terminology used in the hospital.

Qualifications and Skills

Must be responsible, dependable, task oriented, and service minded. General understanding of biology is a plus.

Must have at least 1-2 years of Veterinary field experience.

Must be able to receive and follow instructions and complete tasks as assigned.

Must be self-motivated, assertive, eager to learn, and have a strong work ethic.

Must be tech savvy and capable of learning and using veterinary management software system.

Must be able to prioritize tasks, have excellent communication skills in person and on the phone, maintain professional decorum, be able to work well under pressure, and be a team member.'

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
