USD 495 is seeking a motivated and student-focused Welding/Vocational Education Instructor for Larned High School. The successful candidate will provide high-quality instruction in welding and related career and technical education (CTE) courses while preparing students for postsecondary education, industry certifications, and workforce opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Teach welding and related vocational education courses to high school students.
- Develop and implement engaging, hands-on learning experiences aligned with Kansas Career and Technical Education standards.
- Maintain a safe and productive laboratory/shop environment.
- Integrate employability, leadership, and workplace readiness skills into instruction.
- Build relationships with local industry partners and community stakeholders.
- Maintain program equipment, inventory, and safety procedures.
- Participate in school and district professional responsibilities and activities.
Qualifications
Applicants must meet one of the following:
- Hold a valid Kansas teaching license with an appropriate Career and Technical Education endorsement; or
- Possess relevant industry experience and qualifications that may allow eligibility for a Kansas CTE Specialized Certificate.
Candidates with extensive welding, fabrication, manufacturing, construction, or related industry experience are encouraged to apply.
Preferred Qualifications
- Welding and fabrication experience.
- Knowledge of industry safety standards and practices.
- Experience working with high school-aged students, apprentices, or adult learners.
- Industry certifications and/or credentials relevant to welding and manufacturing.
