Library Clerk - Temporary Position - Support Services

• Process newly received materials, such as attaching covers, labels, barcodes and RFID tags.
• Inspects new materials for damage
• Check in new materials and routes material to the appropriate library branch location.
• Perform a variety of library clerical tasks, as assigned
• May perform one or more of the following: inventory and ordering of supplies; create records, change holdings using an ILS system, and process mail for the library system
• Attend and participate in staff meetings, Staff Development Day and training sessions.
• Other duties as assigned
• PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to bend, stoop, reach, stand, talk, listen, and lift, pull, or push materials up to 25lbs, on a daily basis. Occasional sitting. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Strong computer skills.
• Good knowledge of standard office and library machines.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• Work as a member of a team.
• Position may require evening and weekend hours.

SALARY: $17.00 per hour, 24 hours per week
