What are the responsibilities and job description for the Saturday Academy Assistant Teacher, College Lift position at Forsyth Technical Community College?
The position of Assistant Teachers is central to the success of Saturday Academy. Assistant Teachers provide logistic support for Saturday Academy operations, while facilitating a higher level of instructional quality by reducing the student/teacher ratio in classrooms.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Bachelors/associates degree or current enrollment in institution of higher education
- Work under the direction of Lead Teachers to facilitate quality instruction in Saturday Academy classrooms Facilitate Saturday Academy logistics (e.g. setup and takedown, meal times, student check in and check out, operations involved in Family Accompaniment, etc.)

- Frequently required to stand and walk.
- Able to hear audible equipment indicators and verbal communications in the environment.

- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and assist others in controlling young children.
- Must see with sufficient close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception, and focus adjustment to differentiate light/color intensity and evaluate perceivable changes in the environment.
- Must have moderate sense of smell to determine danger indicators such as smoke.
