What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tutor, College Lift Program position at Forsyth Technical Community College?
College Lift tutors will provide targeted instructional support both in the context of after-school tutoring and in fulfillment of personalized academic success plans. Tutors will also function to facilitate logistics at their prescribed instructional sites.
Minimum Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable providing academic and socio-emotional support to diverse middle school and high school learners.
- Organized and reliable with the ability to follow directions and program guidelines.
- Culturally responsive and committed to educational equity.
- Availability to work Monday through Thursday during and/or after school.
Preferred:
- Bachelors/associates degree or current enrollment/college coursework in education, math, science, science or a related field.
- Background supporting first-generation, low-income, or English learner students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: including the following and other duties as needed.
- Facilitate tutoring with small groups of College Lift students at designated middle schools and high schools following students’ academic success plans.
