What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transportation Aide position at Forsyth County (NC)?
This position serves the primary purpose of ensuring safety and wellbeing of children (birth-21 years old) in Forsyth County who have been adjudicated to be abused, neglected, or dependent juveniles by facilitation of transportation services. This is achieved by safely and timely transporting children to and from their supervised family visitation, and/or therapy appointments, and assisting with the transition to and from these activities.
The primary hours of work are from 8:00am until 5:00pm but flexibility in scheduling is needed to meet the needs of the families served and the mandated time frames.
A valid driver’s license is essential to the functions of this position as regular travel outside of the office is fundamental to the daily work.
A valid active NC driver’s license requires a working knowledge of safe driving practices and child seat regulations.
Requires the ability to work with a diverse population.
Requires excellent customer service.
Requires organization, documentation skills, and time management skills to perform job duties and responsibilities.
This position also provides observation, encouragement, pre-teaching, and interventions as needed.
Transportation interactions and activities must be documented to address appropriateness, needs, and concerns.
Collaboration and communication with social workers, GAL’s, schools, foster parents, and other case involved parties is required.
