Courier (Support Services Associate)

The Courier delivers library materials, mail and equipment to library facilities countywide; provides light maintenance at all facilities as needed and performs other duties as assigned. The position drives the County van to all library facilities and must maintain a valid driver's license. Must be able to bend, stoop, and transport totes weighing between 20 and 60 pounds.   

An employee in this class is responsible for maintaining a daily delivery schedule of mail.

Ability to organize work.

Time management skills.

Detail oriented.

Work is performed under general supervision and is evaluated in conferences.

Ability to read and write information relevant to perform the work. Prefer some related experience. A valid driver's license is required. Maintains a mail delivery schedule between numerous locations throughout the County.
Makes special deliveries and bank deposits.
Sorts mail by department for delivery.
Performs related work as required

Maintaining a specific license such as a driver's license in good standing, without a lapse or loss of a privilege to drive in compliance with North Carolina law, and in compliance with applicable DOT standards for commercial motor vehicle drivers if required to perform the duties assigned to the position.
