What are the responsibilities and job description for the Painter Construction Handyman position at Forrest City?
Painting & Surface Finishing

Prepare and paint interior and exterior surfaces including patient rooms, corridors, offices, and common areas

Patch, sand, repair, and finish walls, ceilings, doors, and trim

Mix and match paint colors per hospital standards
-
Perform touch-ups and repainting as needed to maintain facility appearance
-
Use low-VOC and healthcare-approved materials in accordance with infection prevention guidelines
Construction & General Maintenance
-
Perform general construction and repair work including drywall, carpentry, minor flooring repair, and basic tile work
-
Complete minor plumbing and electrical repairs within scope of training
-
Repair doors, locks, handrails, cabinets, fixtures, and furniture
-
Assemble and install shelving, wall protection, and equipment
-
Respond to maintenance work orders and urgent repair needs
Safety, Compliance & Infection Control
-
Follow hospital safety policies, OSHA standards, and Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) protocols
-
Use proper personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
-
Coordinate work schedules to minimize noise and disruption to patient care
-
Report safety hazards, maintenance issues, or compliance concerns promptly
Documentation & Team Support

Maintain accurate records of completed work orders

Track material usage and report supply needs
-
Communicate effectively with nursing, clinical staff, and leadership

Assist other Facilities team members as needed
Physical Requirements

Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 75 pounds

Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work overhead for extended periods

Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights

Tolerance to exposure to paint fumes, dust, and cleaning chemicals
