Duties
- Supervise children during afterschool hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Assist Lead in providing engaging activities such as arts, sports, outdoor games, and team-building exercises
- Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement and effective behavior management techniques
- Assist in carrying out youth development programs that support social skills, emotional growth, and academic success
- Maintain accurate attendance records and communicate with parents or guardians as needed
- Assist with homework help and educational activities tailored to different age groups
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols including first aid procedures, CPR certification standards, and emergency response plans
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, or youth program settings a plus
- Certification in First Aid, CPR, AED operation (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Ability to lead outdoor activities safely and effectively in various weather conditions
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members, children, and parents
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for teaching young children through sports coaching, theater experience, teaching, or similar roles
