Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role located in Allen, TX, for an Inventory Supervisor. The Inventory Supervisor will oversee daily inventory operations, ensuring accurate physical inventory counts, implementing efficient inventory control systems, and monitoring stock movements. They will manage a team, provide leadership by assigning tasks and training staff, and ensure adherence to safety and operational standards. Additionally, they will analyze data to identify trends, support business decisions, and drive performance improvements.

  • Effective Communication skills for coordinating with team members and other departments
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain accurate inventory records
  • Familiarity with inventory management software and systems
  • Experience in a manufacturing or supply chain environment is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, or a related field is preferred



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Oversee Inventory Management: Manage and maintain inventory levels to support production requirements, 

ensuring that materials are available for manufacturing while minimizing excess stock.

• Inventory Control Procedures: Oversee inventory control processes and procedures, ensuring efficient 

management, proper handling, and accurate record-keeping of all materials and supplies.

• Staff Supervision & Training: Train, supervise, and mentor inventory staff to ensure that inventory 

management practices are consistently followed and that the team is performing efficiently and accurately.

• Inventory Audits & Accuracy: Conduct regular and detailed inventory audits to ensure accuracy and reduce 

discrepancies. Take corrective actions when necessary to maintain inventory integrity.

• Compliance with cGMP, SOPs, and Food Safety Standards: Maintain inventory control procedures that comply 

with cGMP, SOPs and food safety standards, including monitoring storage conditions and ensuring all materials 

are handled according to regulatory guidelines.

• Cross-Functional Communication: Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and departments, 

including procurement, production, warehouse, and quality assurance, to address inventory needs, resolve 

issues, and ensure seamless operations.

• Data Analysis & Inventory Optimization: Analyze inventory data to identify trends, forecast needs, and 

optimize inventory levels to meet production demands while reducing waste and obsolescence.

• Continuous Improvement: Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inventory management 

practices, focusing on increasing efficiency, reducing costs, and improving accuracy in inventory tracking.

• Collaboration on Quality & Compliance: Collaborate with quality assurance and production teams to address inventory-related quality and compliance issues, ensuring products meet safety and quality standards.

• Reporting & Documentation: Generate regular and ad-hoc reports on inventory status, performance, and 

trends, providing insights for management to support decision-making.

• Other Duties as Assigned: Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure the efficient operation of the 

inventory management function and support business objectives.



Required Qualifications


• Education: 

o (Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

o Certification in Inventory Management (e.g., APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management 

(CPIM)) is a plus.


• Experience: 

o Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in inventory control or supply chain management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.

o Proven experience in managing inventory within a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in food or nutraceutical industries.

o Experience with inventory management software (e.g., Batchmaster, Microsoft GP, Oracle, or similar 

platforms).


Qualifications:

o In-depth knowledge in managing inventory within a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in food or nutraceutical industries.

o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

o Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

o Knowledge of inventory management best practices, food safety regulations, and industry compliance 

standards.

o Ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.

o Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and inventory management software.

o Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and report to senior management.

o Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage fluctuating inventory demands


Supervisor Responsibilities:


Maintain a Food Safety Culture by regularly assessing the team’s performance and understanding of food safety practices. 

• Initiate decisions on corrective action that support resolution and improved policies and procedures. 

• Communicate to employees any opportunity to improve team performance to achieve greater levels of product safety and quality. 

• Comply with policies and procedures to prepare and pack the product under sanitary conditions that do not expose it to the risk of contamination. 

• Encourage and maintain a strong food safety culture by ensuring employees are knowledgeable of food safety policies and procedures, as well as empowered to report events that could impact the food safety of the produc
