Our core business, producing plastic resins and petrochemicals, takes place at three wholly-owned chemical manufacturing subsidiaries located in Delaware City, Delaware, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Point Comfort, Texas.

Title: Maintenance Technician (Pipefitter)
Department: SPVC Mechanical Maintenance
POSITION OBJECTIVE
To carry out the duties and responsibilities of a unit pipefitter technician. To be capable of fulfilling the role as a pipefitter as well as ability to perform as step-up Supervisor for Unit Mechanical Maintenance as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS

1. High School graduate or equivalent
2. Valid Driver’s License
3. An Associate’s Degree in Industrial Systems and Engineering Technology or Craftsmen Certification i.e., NCCER, NCCCO, NACE, etc. or equivalent or at least 3 years’ experience in the related field.
TRAINING

Will require training in Company Policies, Procedures and craft training after hire.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To execute the work order assignment in an efficient and safe manner and quality workmanship on pipe, piping components, and stationary equipment.
2. To care and manage the tools necessary in work performance, theirs or the departments.
3. Supply and have available the necessary tools for work performance per the FPC policy directives and purchase replacement tools in the event of loss or damage.
4. To provide the engineer a root-cause diagnosis for each equipment failure.
5. Properly fill out necessary warehouse commodity requests with correct account code and cost center information and submit to the supervisor or appropriate approval authority for execution.
6. Control the cost of repair for the equipment under his/her stewardship area.
7. Provide information to the engineer and supervisor for observations in the field of abnormal situations and possible failure, even if they fall outside the steward’s immediate area of responsibility.
8. Cross training with another steward for the purpose of back-up and coverage during his vacation or time off.
9. Cross train your back up for the purpose of time off and call out coverage.
10. Periodic review of historical file to ensure that your equipment history is accurate and representative of all failures, special notes and changes are inclusive for the benefit of any other steward who may be called out to perform work on your equipment.
11. Accurately and neatly fill out work orders to ensure that engineer and data entry clerk can perform their responsibilities efficiently.
12. Control the use and reduce waste of expendables for your unit.
13. Individual area of stewardship for total housekeeping management.
14. Control and limit overtime necessary to maintain the equipment condition for steward’s area of responsibility.
15. Any production loss, safety incident, or environmental spills resulting; from the performance of your work in the area of your responsibility.
16. To work with your fellow stewards to ensure job tasks are completed as necessary to maintain unit Production, Safety and Environmental requirements.
17. Study and suggest improvements that will lower costs in your individual area of responsibility, discuss with the supervisor and engineer to determine if they can be performed without effect to design or process and within the parameters and guidelines of FPC Policy.
18. To study and maintain proficiency in technical responsibilities, be prepared to be tested and assessed in your abilities to perform your job skills, including knowledge of the department and equipment S.O.P.’s.
19. To assume the responsibilities as a PIC (person in charge) of Contract or Unit Rate Work packages to direct their activities, monitor and update their progress, and ensure their work quality in order to complete their work scope as required.
20. To assume the responsibilities as a Step-up Supervisor during vacation replacement or during Shutdown/Turnaround activities on opposite work shift (Day / Night).
21. Be trained as an inspector for API & CUI programs in your area, T/A job preparation and other duties as assigned.
22. Work outside normal shift hours as needed.
23. Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
24. Adhere to all company policies and procedures including but not limited to, ISO, personnel, quality, environmental, health, safety, regulatory and company requirements.
25. Comply with NTG (Nothing Touching the Ground) requirements. Including daily audits.
26. Be active in Operation Clean Sweep, and ensure employees are aware of and accountable for pellet loss prevention, containment, cleanup and disposal.
27. Perform other duties as assigned.
