Formosa Plastics is a privately held company headquartered in Livingston, New Jersey. Our core business, producing plastic resins and petrochemicals, takes place at three wholly-owned chemical manufacturing subsidiaries located in Delaware City, Delaware, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Point Comfort, Texas.

POSITION OBJECTIVE
This position ensures timely and accurate completion of environmental compliance tasks, including emissions, flare monitoring, and inventory reports. It supports regulatory reporting, adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, and compliance with ISO standards. Key duties include managing emissions inventory, coordinating environmental reports, tracking chemical usage, and supporting audits. This role contributes to the organization's compliance, sustainability, and environmental impact reduction goals.
MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE REPORTING - Assists in preparing and submitting required environmental compliance reports, including emissions, flare monitoring, and inventory reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulatory deadlines. The staff member supports the tracking and collection of necessary data across departments to ensure timely submission of quarterly, semiannual, and annual reports. They play a key role in ensuring all reports align with federal, state, and local environmental regulations, contributing to the overall compliance of the organization.
AUDITING AND DATA SUPPORT - Provides assistance with both internal and external environmental audits. This includes supporting the verification of collected data, ensuring it is up-to-date and accurate. They help in identifying and resolving discrepancies in environmental data, contributing to audit preparations, and ensuring that all necessary records and reports are accessible for review. Their efforts ensure compliance with all audit requirements and help mitigate any potential audit findings.
ENVIRONMENTAL PROGRAM COORDINATION - Supports various environmental programs, such as tracking chemical usage, greenhouse gas emissions, and compliance with ISO standards. They assist in the implementation and management of environmental initiatives, ensuring data is accurately recorded and reported. This role contributes to the organization’s environmental sustainability goals by supporting compliance with environmental regulations and assisting in the coordination of related programs and initiatives.
THM - Promote cleanliness and order through the implementation of the Total House Keeping Maintenance program. Emphasize Nothing Touch Ground program and No Visual Pollution program. Maintain the plant in like new condition.
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous Related Experience Required
Ten (10) years of experience in a petrochemical plant setting dependent upon education. Olefin operation working experience preferred.
Technical Skills Required to Perform This Job
  • Working knowledge on how to track and apply Formosa regulatory requirements and ability to apply requirements to corporate policies and procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • A willingness and drive to continue to learn and to improve yourself.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of 10 years of direct job-related experience required. Associate’s degree with 8 years of direct job-related experience. Bachelor’s degree with 6 years of direct job-related experience preferred.
