Job Description
Position: Material Handler
Position Summary:
- Move materials to support production needs. Ensure inventory is accurate in electronic inventory management system and by physical location.
- Physically move raw materials for production use and to Store Pallets.
- Transfer materials to production areas to support production in-process.
- Report on raw material shortages to Department Manager.
- Break, Sort, Tag, Repack orders.
- Complete physical and Ship Build inventory counts to verify inventory accuracy.
- Report problems with quality, processes, equipment, or materials to the Production Supervisor.
- Complete training records and other documentation as required.
- Complete routine tasks with minimal supervision (self-manageable).
- Maintain warehouse and raw material storage areas in a clean and organized manner to facilitate manufacturing functions.
- Keep a clean work environment.
- Comply with policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements of Forman Mills
- Other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous material handling experience preferred.
- Computer skills required to complete material transactions.
- Ability to work safely around chemicals and equipment.
- Ability to multitask and constantly be on the move throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug and background screen.
- The usage of your hands and finger is continuous and a repetitive activity.
- Wrist and body turning will occur on a continuous basis.
- Bending and stooping are continuous.
- Concentration, accuracy, up and attention to detail are required.
