Lead Carpenter – Hands-On Role with Advancement Potential
Forman Construction, serving homeowners for over 30 years and still growing, is seeking a Lead Carpenter with the skills to complete major interior renovations — including custom cabinet installs, custom built-ins, and high-end trim work. Basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical work is a plus. We're looking for a dependable craftsman who takes pride in quality workmanship, communicates well with customers, and wants a long-term home with an established company.
About the Role
This is a working, hands-on field position — not a desk or management job. The work spans the full range of residential carpentry, from framing and general construction tasks through finished interiors — but the ability to deliver high-end work (custom cabinet installs, built-ins, detailed trim) is the skill level we require. You'll perform carpentry daily, lead by example on the jobsite, and work alongside our crew. Carpenters who demonstrate leadership, communication, and project oversight skills may have the opportunity to advance into a Project Management role over time — but our primary need is someone who genuinely enjoys building in the field.
Requirements
- 10 years of verifiable carpentry experience, including experience as a Lead Carpenter on residential remodeling and construction projects
- Skilled across all phases of residential carpentry, including framing, with proven ability in high-end interior work: custom cabinet installation, custom built-ins, and detailed trim
- Strong communication and customer service skills — much of our work is in occupied homes
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation
- Own professional tools
- References required and verified
- Basic working knowledge of plumbing and electrical work (non-licensed tasks) is a plus
