POSITION SUMMARY
The Branch Manager position is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations while supporting inside sales activities. This role ensures efficient material handling, accurate inventory control, and timely order fulfillment, while also assisting customers with product inquiries, quotes, and order entry. The position requires strong organizational skills, a customer‑focused mindset, and the ability to balance operational leadership with sales support. This role also supports overall branch operations as needed. Certain tasks may be asked that do not fall into the essential functions of this job.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES
Warehouse Management
• Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, stocking, picking, staging, and shipping materials.
• Ensure accurate inventory levels through cycle counts, adjustments, and proper documentation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment in compliance with company policies and OSHA standards.
• Coordinate delivery schedules with drivers and ensure orders are prepared accurately and on time.
• Train, direct, and support warehouse staff; assist with scheduling and task assignments.
• Monitor equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, tools) and coordinate maintenance or repairs as needed.
• Implement and enforce warehouse procedures to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
Inside Sales & Customer Support
• Assist customers via phone, email, and in person with product inquiries, pricing, availability, and order status.
• Prepare and process quotes, sales orders, returns, and credit requests.
• Provide product knowledge and recommend solutions based on customer needs.
• Collaborate with outside sales, purchasing, and customer service to ensure smooth order flow.
• Follow up on open quotes and backorders to support sales growth and customer satisfaction.
Operational Coordination
• Align warehouse operations with sales and service goals.
• Support inventory planning by communicating stock shortages, overages, and fast‑moving items.
• Assist with vendor returns, warranty claims, and special orders.
• Participate in branch meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall branch operations.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical training preferred.
• 2 years of warehouse experience, including inventory control; leadership experience strongly preferred.
• Experience in inside sales, customer service, or order processing in a distribution or construction‑related industry is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP/order‑entry systems.
• Strong communication, problem‑solving, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work independently and lead others in a fast‑paced environment.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, and climbing in a warehouse environment.
• Ability to operate forklifts and material‑handling equipment.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures, including hot, cold, and outdoor conditions.
• Ability to sit at a computer for portions of the day while performing inside sales tasks.
