Technology Systems & Infrastructure Analyst

Position Objective:

The Technology Systems & Infrastructure Analyst provides advanced technical support, cybersecurity administration, cloud services management, and infrastructure expertise across the Nelson Family Companies. This role partners with business leaders, end users, and technology vendors to deliver secure, reliable, and innovative technology solutions that improve operational efficiency and support business growth.

This position may be based in either Stewart, MN or Sioux Falls, SD. The successful candidate will be expected to work onsite at their primary location and travel regularly between company locations. A significant portion of this role will involve providing onsite technology support to our Sioux Nation Ag Center facilities and veterinary clinics located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Boyden, Iowa; and throughout eastern South Dakota.

This position requires approximately 50% travel, including frequent day trips and occasional overnight travel, to provide onsite technology support, collaborate with team members, and support business operations across multiple company locations.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operational Support
  • Act as the primary liaison between internal teams, SMEs, and third-party vendors to resolve complex IT issues efficiently.
  • Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis for advanced hardware, software, network, and user access issues.
  • Coordinate escalations and resolution strategies in alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Maintain and enhance documentation of incidents, resolutions, and standard operating procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve technology processes, automation, and system reliability.
• Microsoft Cloud Administration
  • Administer and optimize cloud services, including Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, Microsoft Defender, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Microsoft Teams
  • Manage cloud-based accounts, storage, backups, and application integrations, ensuring security and efficiency.
  • Monitor cloud performance, cost, and compliance with security best practices and make changes to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and enhance security.
  • Support cloud migration initiatives, new service deployments, and modernization projects.
  • Troubleshoot advanced connectivity, identity, and access issues across cloud platforms.
• Cybersecurity
  • Monitor, analyze, and respond to security threats, alerts, and vulnerabilities.
  • Administer and optimize security tools, including endpoint protection, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Support compliance initiatives, facilitate security audits, and contribute to regulatory reporting.
  • Manage user access controls, password policies, and multifactor authentication to enforce security best practices.
  • Conduct employee security awareness training and help develop and enforce cybersecurity policies.

Participate in technology implementation projects, infrastructure upgrades, system integrations, and business application initiatives across the Nelson Family Companies as directed by the Director of Technology Services.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience supporting Microsoft 365 and Azure environments.
• Experience with endpoint management (Intune preferred).
• Experience administering Microsoft Active Directory and Entra ID.
• Experience with cybersecurity tools and best practices.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Self-motivated with a strong desire to succeed, working well in a team environment.
