Controller

As Controller, you’ll step into a key leadership role on the finance team, working closely with the CFO to strengthen financial operations, drive accuracy and insight, and help shape the company’s growth trajectory. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on leader who enjoys building structure in a fast-paced, evolving environment and wants their work to directly impact the company’s success.

This position will require you to be onsite in Greenville, SC.

Essential Duties & Functions

• Prepare and present timely, accurate financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow).
• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and ensure strong financial controls.
• Oversee daily accounting operations including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Assist in annual budgeting and forecasting; analyze performance against targets and identify key trends.
• Design and implement internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accuracy.
• Coordinate external audits and oversee financial compliance.
• Mentor, develop, and lead a small accounting team.
• Partner with operational leaders to provide financial insights and guide decision-making.
• Oversee accounting software and ERP systems (experience with Sage Intacct is a plus).
• Continuously evaluate and improve financial processes for greater efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Proven experience in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Hands-on experience with accounting operations and financial management systems.
• Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
• Experience with job cost accounting and GAAP percentage-of-completion methods is a plus.
• ERP implementation experience preferred (Sage Intacct ideal).
• An active CPA license
