The Outdoor Education Program Coordinator is responsible for developing, scheduling and facilitating outdoor education programs, stewarding relationships with community partners, and managing program equipment and resources. This position requires a passion for the outdoors, strong communication skills, and the ability to build meaningful relationships with diverse stakeholders.
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
- Represent the organization at relevant events and conferences.
- Proactively identify and cultivate relationships with new community partners, including schools, youth organizations, and non-profits.
- Maintain positive and collaborative relationships with existing community partners, ensuring ongoing engagement and support.
- Collaborate with members of the Communications Department to create engaging communication materials, including flyers, social media content, and website updates, to promote outdoor education programs and events.
- Design and deliver outdoor education programs for diverse audiences, incorporating hands-on learning experiences and environmental stewardship principles.
- Offer assistance and guidance to groups planning outdoor activities in the park, including logistical support and educational resources.
- Plan and coordinate outdoor events, workshops, and field trips, ensuring a safe and educational experience for participants.
- Assist with the development and implementation of program evaluation tools to assess the effectiveness and impact of outdoor education initiatives.
- Assist with developing educational resources, including lesson plans, interpretive materials, and interactive learning tools, to support outdoor education programs.
- Oversee the inventory, maintenance, and organization of program equipment.
- Oversee seasonal staff and approve timesheets.
- Coordinate program and event volunteers.
